Matti May Hardie

I've been trying to write this goddamn post for ages and it's just not flowing. I pretend I know how to do fashion blogging but there's fuck-all I can say about clothes.

I've needed to add some things to my wardrobe, I'm the kind of person who likes to cut down on things I don't need but then never replace it, so I needed (really badly) to thicken things out, so I raided ASOS and a couple of other high street shops that I can't link to. I feel like I'm finally getting there with my wardrobe because for ages I was so bored and uninterested with it.

Black Jumper - ASOS

I've been trying to thicken out my wardrobe and even though black wasn't necessarily the best colour to choose from I really like this jumper, it's super soft and the wool isn't at all scratchy, plus it's elasticated on the sleeves so when I push them up they don't slip back down.

Red New Look Playsuit - ASOS

Don't ask me why, I just decided all of a sudden that I needed a playsuit in my life. I can just imagine flouncing around with a pair of Vans Old Skool. Lush. I also like that this one is very much day to night type playsuit? I really love clothes that are more multifunctional and that I can transfer by changing various things in the outfit.

Plain White T-Shirt - ASOS

Like the black jumper, this is purely to supplement the lack of staples in my wardrobe, and I think everyone needs a plain white t-shirt right?

Noisy May Black Denim Shorts - ASOS

Given the fact that my DIYed shorts from last summer were in a fairly pitiful state, I figured I could treat myself to a nice new pair, that hopefully would last the summer this time!

Pull&Bear White Striped T-Shirt - ASOS

I've always liked men's clothes, they're somewhat comfier than women's clothes and t-shirts in particular are a bit of a struggle, and I'm always drawn to men's t-shirts. It's fairly plain but I can see it with the black shorts and my Vans this summer.

Plain Black New Look Leggings - ASOS

For years, leggings were the bane of my life. I would shudder at the thought of wearing any, but I borrowed some of my Mum's and I now understand what I've been missing so obviously I needed to buy a pair.

Daisy Street Grunge Boyfriend Shirt - ASOS

This was one of those things you throw into your basket and try not to look too hard. I must say that the colours aren't what I'd usually wear but the change is refreshing.

Vans Old Skool

I've been lusting over a pair of Vans Old Skool since my boyfriend got a pair, and my Mum surprised me with a pair for my birthday (I was very chuffed with them). I really love these because they go with pretty much everything and they can add a casual side to most outfits (also plan on trying to style them up, would you guys like a post like that?).

What have you guys been buying recently?

Hey all, how's you?

Two posts in one week? You lucky things!

This post is the first of a couple of posts that I will be writing in collaboration with Rosegal.com. Rosegal is a site that not only does clothes, but also accessories, shoes, bags, beauty products, wigs and homeware, so I decided to do a little wishlist, and then I'll be doing a review once I receive the items.

Gothic Style Dragon Shape Earring

I found this whilst musing in the accessories section and jeeeeesus I need this in my life! It's really cute, and just fancy enough to add a little bit to it.

Padded Cross Back Lace Crop Cami Top - Black

Now, I have no idea if I'd actually have the balls to wear this, since it is fairly short, but I can definitely see myself wearing this over the summer with maybe a pair of black shorts and my Docs or something like that.

V-Neck Ruffled Casual Tunic Dress With Sleeves - Black

I've been looking for this simple kind of dress for ages. It looks really versatile and I could probably wear it in all seasons.

Vintage Snake Alloy Ear Cuff - Silver

Literally just the same thing as the other ear cuff. They honestly just both make me seriously happy.

Chic Totem Print Off The Shoulder Short Sleeve Romper For Women - Red

This is cuuuuuute! I can already picture myself just chilling in the sun with this on. Plus, I'm totally into the on the shoulder thing going on at the moment.

As you will have noticed if you've read my recent haul, I have a lot of black and monochrome items of clothing in my wardrobe, and this is my way of trying to encourage myself to wear more colour!

I hope you enjoyed this post, keep your eyes peeled for the next post.

Hey all, how's you?

I was looking for a new handbag online and a realisation hit me rather hard because I'd never thought of it before, but once I had I felt stupid not to have realised it before. Fashion scares the shit out of me.

I don't like shopping. I never have; whenever I walk into a shop I feel obliged to spend money on something if not I feel bad and if I ever do leave a shop empty-handed I feel like everyone's judging me, especially if I had asked for one of the shop assistant's help. You see, I'm very difficult when it comes to shopping. I have a very specific taste that is rather difficult to cater for, especially in rural France. Even more so now as I'm trying to change my style because I really don't like the clothes I'm wearing and I'm trying to encourage myself to wear some more unusual pieces, rather than what everyone else is wearing.

Like I said, I've always hated going shopping - the mere idea of it struck fear into my heart because I knew it would mean an afternoon-long expedition to try and find just a couple of pieces that I liked, and even then it was never a 100% guarantee I'd ever even wear it.

Fashion scares me, quite simply because I don't understand it. I remember many a time standing wide-eyed, lost like a deer in the headlights, in the middle of Primark, not really sure what I was supposed to be doing or why I was even there in the first place. I don't know how to put an outfit together, I don't really even like most of the trends, I barely even know my own size, and don't even bother telling me to ask a shop assistant for help, I'd probably lose her within the first sentence what with my incessant nervous babbling (thanks for that, social anxiety, you're a love). Add to all that that I don't really know what I want.

It also annoys me a bit when I get odd looks off people. Like when I walk straight to the men's section of a shop and try stuff I like on. Yes, sometimes I prefer to wear men's clothes rather than women's clothes because men's clothes look better on me than women's clothes do. Yet if I walked into a Primark and started perousing the men's section, and then proceeded to try some things on, I'd get some very odd looks from both shoppers and shop assistants, but that's a whole different subject that I'll be talking about soon enough.

Am I the only one who feels intimidated by fashion?
