Matti May Hardie

Hey all,
Hows you?

Yes, I stole this blog post off the wonderful Cara from Maskcara (you can find her post here) because I thought it was such an inspirational and interesting post to write. This is my gratitude list, because sometimes, I need a reminder of what I'm glad about. This took me a really long time to write, you'd be shocked at all the little things in life that you are glad for but forget.

Hey all,
Hows you?

It's that time of the month again! No, not that time of the month, but the time of the month where I tell you beautiful people what my monthly favorites have been!

Elf - Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick
This is one of my all time favorite products. Normally, I don't like lip gloss because I find it way too sticky and I don't like how it feels on my lips, but this is a really good alternative to lip gloss as it isn't sticky and the colours are hella pretty. Mine is in Pink Umbrellas and I think it's a really pretty pinky nude colour.

Hey all,
Hows you?

Recently, I read "The Drowning Of Arthur Braxton" by Caroline Smailes, and I want to talk about it.
Can I start off by saying that I blooming loved that book, like really loved it. I read it in 3 days, and normally, it takes me weeks to read books because I'm just so busy with school and my blog and ish.

Hey all,
Hows you?

I've been thinking about Christmas lately and because of that, I've been thinking about what perfume I want (my Mum and I kind of have a tradition that we buy each other a perfume or a body scent for Christmas each year). So I decided to compile a list of my favorites perfumes and body scents (including eaux de toilettes).

I'm not going to bother trying to explain the scents to you, it would be a mess.

1 - Nina Ricci - Eau de Toilette Mademoiselle Ricci

2 - The Body Shop - White Musk Smoky Rose Fragrance Mist

3 - YSL - Black Opium

4 - Givenchy - Very Irresistible

5 - Thierry Mugler - Alien Essence Absolue

Hey all,
Hows you?

If you know me well, you'll know that I have recently acquired an obsession for lipsticks. I adore any sort, high end or drugstore. Sadly, lipsticks cost money, money that I don't have because I'm saving for an iPhone. However, I have been doing a shit-ton of research about various lipsticks that I fancied sharing with you guys.

I'm going to start with high-end lipsticks. Obvs, I have my all-time favorite lipstick, the Clinique "A Different Grape" Lipstick, this isn't quite the right shade, it's more a pinky red, but I couldn't find the right shade on the website. This is the only one that I have personally tried for now.

Next is M.A.C; unfortunately, I can’t afford M.A.C make-up, but I had a mental splurge (as in, I mentally bought the entire contents of the website) a few days ago and wanted to share my favorites with you guys.
First is Dark Side, which is one of the darker ones, Costa Chic that has some slight coraley, pinky tones in it, and Russian Red that is a really really rich red colour that I am obsessed with, but I'm not sure if I could pull it off! I also love love love Pure Zen which is more a nude shade that, again, I'm not sure if I'd be able to pull off in case I lose my lips with it on! And also Shy Girl that is again, more of a nude shade, but has some more pinky tones too it.

The last lipstick I wanted to talk about is the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution in Love Liberty. I think it's safe to say that I'm not too adventurous when it comes to lipstick colours! Then again, I have developped a bit of a love for Amazing Grace too.

Now onto drugstore lipsticks. I have only tried the Rimmel and Maybelline ones but I want to branch out and try some more like Maxx Factor First I want to talk about Rimmel.
If you read other make-up related posts, you'll know that I am obsessed with Rimmel. I don't really know why but I feel like ever product of that I use of theirs is a winner that I really enjoy using. I've really liked the look of the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in 107 and 111. Yes, I realize that they are very similar, so that's why I would probably only buy one of the two. But look how pretty they are!! I have also tried the 104, but I was awfully disappointed with it. It was very dry and didn't look very nice on my lips, but my friend has another one and it looks fine so maybe it's just a fluke.

107, 111

Hope you enjoyed that. Let me know what your favourite high end and drugstore lipstick is in the comments.

Hey all,
Hows you?

So today I went shopping in town with my Mum and we went (as usual) to our favorite little shop. It reminds me of those little shops in Brighton in the lanes. It's so Tumblr you wouldn't believe!! I wanted to share it with you because if ever you are in my end of the woods (unlikely I'm sure but there we are!), I wanted to show you guys what you could find!!

Hey all,
Hows you?

This is a little thing I have been working on for quite a while, but never really known how to bring it into my content. Then my Mum had found this way, and it works! This is a pilot to see how I can work it so feel free to let me know what you think, what I can do to make it better, what doesn't work, ect... Obviously, this isn't an actual blacklist, that would be cray cray, just to clarify.

I don't know if this has been done before, but I think it's a pretty ingenious idea (thanks Mama! Haha)

Clinique "Superprimer" Universal Primer
One thing you will know if you have read my blog for a while is that I love Clinique. I will recommend it to high heaven, I love it more than anything, it's one my total favorite skincare brand, but I have to say that I was sorely disappointed with this primer. I have been using this primer for quite a while and I think I've only just realised that it's shit! It doesn't make my eyeshadow stay on for any longer, it's quite hard to apply, it's kind of greasy. Bref, it's not a good product. This doesn't mean that I won't buy any other products from Clinique, just not this product.

Olay "Complete Care Touch Of Foundation" Tinted Moisturizer
For this product, this may just be because of my kind of skin, or maybe I'm not putting enough on, but I really do not like this product. It doesn't give any coverage whatsoever, it's quite hard to rub in but what I want to focus on is coverage. My friend gave me this product a couple of months ago because she wasn't using it and thought it suited me. We tried it on to see if it was my colouring and all that and it was. I started using it straight away since I was nearly at a loose end with the BB Cream I had been using (which I funnily enough is next on my list). When we had tried it my friend (and everyone whom we were with agreed) had said that it "showed off my freckles", something which my BB Cream didn't do. I soon realized that as well as showing off my freckles, it was showing off my blemishes, spots and redness. In the end, I was using my BB Cream as a concealer as it helped my hide my spots so much better, and I just used the tinted moisturiser as a base. So yeah, I would never reccomend this to anyone.

Garnier "Miracle Skin Perfector" BB Cream

This isn't quite as bad, but I still want to put it on my blacklist. It's not the actual product itself that I don't like, so much as the application of it. The BB Cream itself is really runny and watery and just generally not easy to apply. Don't like it.

That's all for this month, hope you enjoyed this, as I said before, if you have any ideas or tips let me know either down in the comments or by e-mail. Let me know what's on your blacklist down in the comments.

Hey all, how's you?

I have just watched Dodie(doddleoddle)'s video about Karim (KarimAbridged) (Click on the link to see it). I wasn't planning on making anything else about Youtube sexual abusers, but that was the last straw. I have, in my drafts, a half-finished post about Alex Day and the fact that he's now making videos again. I didn't put it up. But now it's gone too far.

It never has been, is not and never will be okay to ask 14/15 year olds for nudes. NEVER EVER EVER.

It's obvious that we need to keep the conversation going, because obviously, if we don't say anything anymore then it just happens again.

I don't really know what to say in this post but I am just so angry that this community is becoming a community that looks (to onlookers) like a community of weirdos, perverts, and sexual abusers. Yet I personally know (because I have been watching a lot of Youtube for about 3 years) that it's not just them. Obviously, I don't know any Youtubers personally, but often, you can definitely connect more with Youtubers than actors or TV personalities.

If you're an outsider who doesn't really watch Youtube but have heard about everything that is going on, please don't take these people as a generality on Youtube, yes, some Youtubers have mental problems (ex. Zoella and her anxiety and panic attacks) or have suffered from depression and/or self harming (ex. LukeIsNotSexy, Emma Blackery, GaryC, BriBry, MusicalBethan (to a certain extent, ect..), but a lot of them are just kids who are bored and want something to do, as their audience grows, it goes from being their hobbies to their jobs. They're fine. It's not just full of sexual abusers.

It's really annoying, because I feel like I shouldn't even need to write this post, but I feel like I should.

Oh well, rant over.

Hey all, how's you?

So as you all know, I didn't do a September favorites as I didn't love enough things to make a decent post, so I thought I'd mix September and October together.

Make-Up

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara This is something I have loved for ages, and have repurchased many times over, it's the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Mascara. It looks really nice on my eyelashes, it doesn't take a magician to figure out how to make your eyelashes look fab with it. I love it. So much!

Clothes
Primark
This month, instead of having an item or items of clothing, it's an entire shop. I went into Primark while I was in England and I completly fell in love with the shop all over again. As far as I know, you can only find Primark in England, which I'm very sad about. There are SO MANY nice things in there and I could spend hours and thousands of pounds in there.

TV
Orange Is The New Black
I had heard about this TV series from various people. It's called Orange Is The New Black and it's about a women's prison in Lychfield. That's all I'm going to say because I'm shit at explaining these sort of things. But watch it. And love it.

Source

Suits
This has to be the complete opposite of OITNB. It's more for when you feel like a bit of intellectual humor. It's about lawyers in Manhattan. Kind of like Mad Men, but more up-to-date.

Music
Sia - 1000 Forms Of Fear
I didn't know that Sia had released an album! It's so beautiful and every song's a winner. Golden, definetly going to be "buying" this.

Taylor Swift - 1989 (Deluxe Version)
This is Taylor Swift's newest album, but it kills. I never used to like Taylor Swift, mainly because I didn't like country, but I really think that this new pop sound is going to make her a millionaire and incredibly famous.

Videos
Troye Sivan - Becoming You
This is Troye Sivan (the one and only)'s new video. I really hit home with me as I tend to get anxious and scared about being myself in case people look at me and go "what was she on when she picked that outfit?" or "did she mean to wear her hair like that?" ect... So obviously added it to my "motivation" playlist (I'll explain that in a future post). Lovely. You can find the video here. Go. Watch. Love. You're welcome in advance.

Shoes
Preppy Style High Heel Boots
I have loved these boots for quite a while, and they're not so much something I have and have loved, but more something I know I'll love (if that makes any sense). I have a things for ankle-boots and these have to be my faves. I couldn't find a pair in black or brown so I settled for this colour.

Anxiety

So as a lot of you will know, I suffer with anxiety quite badly, so one I have a couple of things I'd like to share with you if you also suffer from it.

The first thing I'd like to talk about are 2 apps.
One is called RespiRelax. It's in french, but it's not rocket science. What you can do is set it for however long and you set it for how many seconds you feel comfortable breathing in for and then how many seconds you feel comfortable breathing out for. Then once you press play it's a water gauge that goes up and down for however long you want.

The next one is called Calm.com, but in the app store it's marked as Calm. It's basically a meditation session. Because I'm broke, I only bought the free version, but that is frankly enough for me. For free you can get the "7 Steps Of Calm" (a 7-step session when you can use it to calm down) and "Calm" (which is the one that I use the most. I basically helps you calm down and stay zen).

These really help me when I'm feeling anxious (at the time it tends to be before school (god knows why) so I'll listen to it on the bus and it really works.

The next thing is more medical. It's called Rescue Remedy. A lot of you may know what this is, but for those who don't know what it is, it's a little vial of liquid, that helps you stay calm. On the bottle, there's written that it's "reassures and comforts" and it really does work. Love it!

Right, I think that's about all. Hope you enjoyed that, let me know what you've been loving over these past couple of months in the comments.
