Matti May Hardie

Hey all, how's you?
I haven't done one of these for ages since I hadn't really worn any make-up this summer, but I have recently had an excuse to put a bit of paint on my face, and I thought I'd share it with you guys. I know it's nearly September but I will probably use this until autumn.
Base
Base
I've honestly been wearing little to no base over the summer since it just melts off within approximately 4 seconds of me leaving the house, and make-up is expensive so I can't even find the motivation to apply it for nothing. With that in mind, concealer has been my only friend. As always, I'm using the Urban Decay "Naked" Concealer because it's just so damn good, then apply a refound love of mine, the E.L.F 'High Definition Powder' - at first I wasn't a massive fan of this but it's actually really good and sets my base wonderfully. I put that mainly where I put my concealer and then lightly brush it over my face to hide any oilyness and general shininess on my face.
Eyes
Eyes and Brows
I tend to try and keep it simple when it comes to my eyes. Since, like I've previously mentionned, it will melt off in the heatwave. So, with that in mind, I apply some Urban Decay '24/7 Glide On" eye pencil, which I am really not getting along with! I hate the way you have to shake it to get it out, what's wrong with sharpening or twisting?! Why do you have to make it this complicated, Urban Decay?! Other than that though, I do really like this product, it stays on pretty well and it looks pretty. Mine is in the shade 'Stag' (that I *think* is unique to the 'On The Run' palette but I'm not entirely sure) and I apply it on my bottom water line and really lightly on my lid, then blend it out to make it look more natural.
Then, as usual, I'll use either the Bobbi Brown 'Smokey Eye' mascara or the Urban Decay 'Perversion', depending on what mood I'm in.
Brows
Again, not much has changed for my brows, but I'm still on the hunt for an eyebrow pencil that suits my brows and that doesn't make me look like I filled them in with Sharpie (long live weirdly coloured brows!). For now, I'm using the Benefit 'Gimme Brow'. I do love it, don't get me wrong, but I'd really like something to redraw my brows instead of just fill them in. I am making zero sense, good.
Blush and Highlight
Screen Shot 2016-08-29 at 19.07.36
As usual, I'm using the blush and the highlight in the Urban Decay 'On The Run' palette, what's new! But it's just perfect and the blush looks so natural and really suits my skintone.
The highlight is also beautiful and is subtle but just enough so that you can notice it. I apply it to my cheek bones, down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid's bow.
Lips
Lips
I've generally been switching between the Sephora 'Cream Lip Stain' in the shade 13 Marvelous Mauve and the MAC 'Lady Danger' lipstick. It generally depends on my mood and where I'm going.
Hope you enjoyed this, I'm running a little dry on blog post material so if there's anything you'd like to see then let me know and your wish shall be my command *waves magic wand over enthusiastically*

Hey all, how's you?
I've been at college for a year now, and I wanted to tell those of you who are starting this year what you've got to look foward to in September.
Death_to_stock_photography_weekend_work (8 of 10)
1/ You Get Really Good At Fitting A Lot Of Things In Small Spaces. Lockers are small, so if you have a joint locker, you need to be able to fit all your bags in! You then become a master of real-life tetris.
2/ Your Phone Charger Lives In Your Bag. With an iPhone? Your battery will probably last you the morning, so taking your phone charger with you to charge it up throughout the day becomes a must.
3/ Sleeping In The Common Room Is A Regular Practise. What? You’ve got to catch up on your sleep sometime! Pretty fast after you start at the college, you won’t think twice about having a little nap on the sofa with you earphones in.
4/ You See New People Everyday. I swear I will notice someone I’ve never seen before in my entire life every single day, no joke.
5/ You Learn The True Meaning Of Bored. Trust me, when you have the whole morning of free period and nothing to, I can assure you that you get bored very quickly!
6/ If You're Boarding, You Get Amazing At Packing A Suitcase. Especially when you decided to start packing at midnight on Sunday night, only to resume on Monday morning. You will forget everything for the first few weeks.
7/ A Good Playlist Is Vital. Decent music and a good pair of headphones are essential. You'll always have free periods somewhere or another so having something good to listen to is very important.
8/ Theft Is A Real Thing And It Could Happen To You! You'll always think 'ohh, weeell, you know, they always talk about it but it probably won't happen to me' - yes it does! It happens to everyone!
9/ You'll Have Friends Spread Out Across The Entire School. And they'll all be in different sections to you.
10/ You Realise That General Knowledge and Knowing Random Facts Is Good. Your teachers will think better of you if you have interesting things to bring to the class. You're in with the big kids now.
Good luck to all starting new schools next week.
What did you learn when you started college?

Hey all, how's you?
Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset
We all get them. Those days when you don't really have the motivation to get out of bed, and if you do it's to move to the sofa, with the duvet. You don't really know what to do, you hate yourself for not eating all the chocolate and carbs, but then if you do you'll hate yourself because you're a fat bitch and no wonder nobody loves you. Your anxiety is flying out of control and you're convinced all your friends are plotting against you and you don't quite want to go online because everyone is more successful than you, but you don't want to watch TV because everyone's an idiot and you want to slit everyone's throat, but you're bored just lying there, and you can't get to sleep because your brain keeps thinking things you don't want to think.
Life's fun, isn't it?
Today, my loves, I am going to try and give you a guide to how to make yourself feel better on these kinds of days. I hope this helps!
First things first, you're going to get your duvet and go and veg out on the sofa, or if you're lucky and have a TV in your room, stay in bed. Then, go and find yourself some food. My food of choice for a down day are instant noodles - they're quick and you don't need much effort, what more could you want, tea (I chose ice tea because it's really freaking hot) and toast.
Noodles and Tea
Then, proceed to eat said noodles in your chosen nook and watch the one film or TV series that will never fail to make you laugh. I have both a film and a series, the film is a Korean film called 'Twenty' and the series is a classic - F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Who doesn't love Friends, right?

Source and source
Next, tea. If you don't like tea, then any other kind of hot drink. Grab a biscuit or a piece of cake or something sweet because why the hell not, no one cares at this point.
Spend the afternoon curled up, like a lil' sushi and let yourself be totally unproductive. Don't pressure yourself to post that video or that post; don't force yourself to call or message your friends and family; and don't you even dare try and look at that to-do list/bullet journal (in my opinion, bullet journals are very helpful, but they're not very helpful for when you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed).
If you have a significant other, then get them to make you both dinner, and then whack on a good film and snuggle.
Try and get an early night if you can, because you're not going to be of much use for anything else, other than being a sushi.
If you're reading this and you're having a bad day - fighting!

Hey all, how's you?
On Friday, Mama and I decided to go and make the most of the end-of-season sales and ended up demolishing both the shops and Mama's bank account (soz, Eomma). I wanted to share my love for what I bought because they're so pretty! So I decided I'd knock up a quick mid-week haul for you guys to share my purchases.
Beauty
Haul
O.P.I Nail Varnish in "Lady In Black" - 13.95€
To be totally honest, I really wasn't sure about this purchase. I was a bit hesitant about spending 13€ on a nail varnish, but I decided to take the plunge, seeing as I had been buying cheap nail varnishes and it's totally pointless and doesn't last even one day so I decided to give a more expensive varnish a go. We shall see!
BareMinerals "Complexion Rescue" Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream - 28.00€
I'd heard about this from everyone and his dog. I finally decided to give it a go, since it's just too hot to use foundation, but I feel like just concealer leaves me looking rather white and patchy, so this seemed like the perfect thing. I shall be doing a review of it in the near future because after having used it for a couple of times I have a few thoughts about it.
Sephora "Classic Collection" Multitasker Brush #45 - 24.00€
I've been looking for a decent blending brush for ages and ages, and I'm hoping this is what I'm looking for. The lady in Sephora tested it on my hand and it looked so amazingly natural that I'm really looking forward to trying it out.
Fashion
I did some particular damage in Burton Of London...
Burton Of London Striped Blazer - 59,60€
blazer
It's been a long time since I fell in love with an item of clothing as much as I have for this blazer. I don't even know why, but I guess it must have been love at first sight - I didn't even know it was coming before it arrived in my life, and all of sudden I can't live without it.
Burton T-Shirts (See here and here) - 17,97€ each
t-shirts
I've needed a couple of go-with-everything t-shirts for ages, and I had been nagging my Mum to allow me to get some boys clothes for ages, so when we ventured into Burtons the other day they were the two things I was looking for, other than men's shirts because Burtons' men's shirts are just beauties.
Jennyfer Bikini - 7,99€
I've needed a decent bikini for an age and a half, and I think I've finally found it. I'm very happy with it. (Sorry but I don't quite feel comfortable showing myself in a bikini).
Piercings
Okay so I went a little crazy in Crazy Factory and bought some little bits and pieces and thought I'd add them to this haul, too.
Flat-lay
Rosegold tunnel
Rose gold
I've had my eye on this little bad boy for a while now and it's so pretty I couldn't not!
Bullet plug
Bullet
I just found this one so cool. There is no story behind this. I was disappointed the back end wasn't a point to make it really look like a bullet but there you are.
Simple black silicone double flare tunnel
Black
I've heard a lot of people talking about how comfortable silicone plugs are so I think this'll be good for everyday use and it really is super comfy (plus it makes my 8mm look like a 10 so I'm happy)
Rainbow plug
Rainbow
LGBT represent! I mean, I couldn't stop myself, I find this so cute. It is rather fiddly to put it and definitely needs lubrication.
Fake gold septum piercing
Septum
I've wanted an actual septum piercing for ages, but I'm too chicken (I'm scared of the pain, okay?!), so I bought this fake one instead. One day, I hope, one day...
Dog Tag (Chain and Tag)
Necklace
I've been looking for a new piece of necklacery (is that a word?) and I really like how uncommon a dog tag is.
Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know what you've bought recently in the comments.

Hey all, how's you?
I'm a self-confessed Netflix addict. I spend most of my time with something on in the background, even if I'm not always listening, it's nice to have something I can just listen to. I wanted to share with you guys my favourite shows on Netflix.
Friends
Screen Shot 2016-07-20 at 21.30.12

I mean... I shouldn't really need to add this, but I thought I would anyway because it's Friends. It's a fucking cult show and it's hilarious and it's so easy to just get lost in these people's lives. I want to take my hat off to the writers - they bloody know how to write a show!
Peaky Blinders
Screen Shot 2016-07-30 at 05.48.22

I don't even remember how I got into this show, but what I do know is that it's bloody great. It's the story of the Shelby brothers, and their business and about how the police are trying to stop them and all the things they do in order to get rid of the police. I'm explaining it really badly, but it's really interesting and gripping.
Sons Of Anarchy
Screen Shot 2016-07-30 at 05.54.15

I have, technically, already watched this show before I got Netflix, but I didn't really watch it properly, seeing as I was half asleep most of the time, so I decided to watch it again. It's about a motorbike gang called the Sons Of Anarchy and their business. They've got a lot to do with drugs and contraband and all the illegal type things, and amid all that, Jax, member of the gang and step-son of the president, is having to deal with being a new father and juggle between father, motorbike gang member and actual human. It's very dark and slightly like GOT, by that I mean that they're quick to pull the trigger, if you know what I mean.
Orange Is The New Black

I really don't need to talk about this forever and a day, do I? This is probably one of the most famous Netflix series there is. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the best 5 years, it's about a woman called Piper Chapman who goes to prison for drug smuggling back when she was dating her then-girlfriend, Alex. Shit goes down, to say the least. I don't really want to go into it too far because I'm going start giving some major spoilers, but just go and watch it it's amazing! *clears throat* not at all a fan.
Downton Abbey
Screen Shot 2016-08-09 at 02.31.02

Possibly one of the most English things ever, Downton Abbey is possibly the most addictive show ever. You don't expect it to but there are loads of old-school dramas going on and once you start you kind of can't stop. It's about the Crawley family (Earl and Countess of Grantham (Robert and Cora), their three daughters, Sybil, Mary and Edith, and the Earl's mother and a couple of their distant relatives, namely the Robert's cousin Isobel and her son Matthew, and then later on the Robert's sister, Rosamund and his second cousin, Rose), that lives in Dowton Abbey in Yorkshire between 1912 and 1925.
Silk
Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 16.27.55
Source
Well this isn't on Netflix as far as I know, but I just needed to spread the love. Ellie has been telling me about this show for months and she finally managed to convince me to watch it - let's just say that from the first episode I was hooked. It's about a barrister called Martha Costello (who is bloody brilliant), who has applied for silk (basically that means they come members of the Queen's Counsel - a high regarded position that is quite difficult to get). The first season is basically her and her collegue Clive who has also applied for silk competing to get silk and following different cases that they are involved in. And it's so bloody addictive and I couldn't not talk about it.

Hey all, how's you?

For my birthday, one thing that was on my list was coloured contact lenses. I'd only ever briefly thought about them seriously before this year when my friends Marion and Gaëlle bought contact lenses, and I was like 'hmm, this is cool, I'd like to try that'. I was thinking about what kind of colour I could get and what really helped me decided what colour contact I wanted was my favourite book 'The Lost Art Of Keeping Secrets' by Eva Rice (I've already spoken about this book here). One of my favourite characters of the books, called Harry, has one blue eye and one brown eye, and I'd always found that really cool.
Contacts 1
Long story short, my friend kindly bought them for me for my birthday, so we had a look on the internet but the website I wanted to buy them from didn't ship to France *sob* and didn't want to buy something I'm putting in my eye just anywhere, so we decided to go to the opticians in town and see if they sold correction-less contact lenses. Turns out they did and so we picked some up. I got the Freshlook 'Colourblends' contacts in the colour 'Brown'.
I've just finished my first month using them, so I thought I was pretty qualified to tell you guys about them; plus I had really enjoyed using them and I wanted to share them so that if any of you were looking for a good place to buy contacts, I wanted to share the love.
Right, onto the actual contacts. They come in loads of different colours but I chose brown as I've already explained. At first, like most contacts I suppose, they're a bit uncomfortable and it felt, to me, like I had something in my eye, which, obviously, I did, but like that something wasn't actually meant to be there, if that makes sense. You do get used to them after a while though, it took me about a week of wearing them every day to get used to them, and once you get used to them it's like they're not even there.
One thing I want to tell you is that you need to put the contacts in before you apply any eye make-up! I've already tried after and I got a bit of make-up under the lense and it made my eye water so much most of my make-up came off. Also make sure you wash your hands with soap when putting them in or taking them out as any little particle of dust or anything that could be left on your finger could really damage your eye and make it all rather uncomfortable.
IMG_2940
Though I do just want to warn you that if the blurriness and not being able to see properly last over a longer period of time then you should go and see the opticians because you could cause damage to your eyesight.
As for the colour payoff, they look great from afar. Close up, you can see my natural eye colour next to my pupil, but really I think that makes it even cooler as it makes my eye look even weirder than they did before!
Contacts 2
In the box, there's two contacts (*Snape's voice* obviously) and a little box for the contacts. As for the solution, I use the iWear "Easywear All-In-One" contact solution. I put that in the little box for the contacts, to keep them clean, I change that every time I put the contact or take it out to make sure that there isn't any dirt in the solution or on the lens.
Have you used the Colourblend contacts before? What did you think about them?
